Eight Fillies And Mares Tangle In Primonetta Stakes

LAUREL, MD. 04-03-08---Determining the post time favorite could be as challenging as selecting the winner of the $80,000 Primonetta Stakes, the Saturday feature at Laurel Park. Hungarian Boatbaby, All Giving and What Time It Is will vie for favoritism in the six furlong test on the main track. Eight fillies and mares are entered.

Hungarian Boatbaby (5-2) has won four of seven starts for trainer Tony Dutrow  including a stakes at Delaware Park. The Silver Ghost filly raced at Laurel on March 9 and galloped to victory under Rosie Napravnik. Napravnik has a riding assignment at Gulfstream Park on Saturday, so Abel Castellano has picked up the mount.

All Giving (3-1) has won seven of sixteen starts and merits attention off a driving 5-1/2 length victory in the Conniver Stakes at Laurel in her most recent try. Flint Stites trains the daughter of Allen’s Prospect. Erick Rodriguez is her regular rider. Stites saddled the winner of last year’s Primonetta, My Sister Sue.

Mike Trombetta has entered both What Time It Is (7-2) and Spectacular Malibu (8-1). What Time It Is, who has three wins and three seconds in nine starts, has not raced since a sizzling win at Philadelphia Park in late January. Spectacular Malibu has an enviable 3-2-0 record in six starts, which include a victory in the 2006 Maryland Million Lassie.

Up from Louisiana is Casino Transaction (6-1). She was third best in a stakes at Delta Downs in her most recent start and will carry Carlos Marquez for the first time for trainer Greg Sacco.

Allowance winners Circuit Breaker (10-1), Loveyasister (12-1) and Awsugahnow (15-1) complete the line-up.
