Two of Five Stakes Worth $475,000 Set for April 22 at Laurel
Rainbow 6, Late Pick 5, Super Hi-5 Carryovers When Racing Resumes Friday
 
LAUREL, MD – Free nominations close Thursday, April 13 for the $125,000 Federico Tesio and the $125,000 Weber City Miss, which headline a program of five stakes worth $475,000 in purse earnings to be run Saturday, April 22 at Laurel Park.
 
The 1 1/8-mile Tesio is a ‘Win and You’re In’ race for Triple Crown-nominated 3-year-olds to the $1.5 million Preakness Stakes (G1) Saturday, May 20 at historic Pimlico Race Course.
 
The Weber City Miss for 3-year-old fillies at about 1 1/16 miles is a ‘Win and You’re In’ race for the $250,000 Black-Eyed Susan (G2) May 19 at Pimlico.
 
Nominations are also free for the $75,000 Primonetta Stakes at six furlongs for fillies and mares 3 and up.
 
Also on the program are the first grass stakes of 2017, the $75,000 Henry S. Clark for 3-year-olds and up and the $75,000 Dahlia for fillies and mares 3 and up, both at one mile over Laurel’s world-class turf course.
 
Live racing returns to Laurel Park Friday with a trio of carryovers on the nine-race program that begins at 1:10 p.m.
 
The 20-cent Rainbow 6, which spans Races 4-9 and includes all four scheduled turf races, offers a carryover jackpot of $6,640.85. The 50-cent Late Pick 5, featuring an industry-low 12 percent takeout, has a carryover of $3,213.78 for the sequence that begins in Race 5.
 
There will also be a carryover of $7,053.49 in the $1 Super Hi-5 for Friday’s opener, a $15,000 claiming event for fillies and mares 3 and older at 5 ½ furlongs.
