LAUREL, MD – In addition to its live programs of world-class Thoroughbred racing, Laurel Park will be hosting a weekend filled with food and fun on Saturday, July 29 and Sunday, July 30.
 
Saturday, July 29 is Kids’ Day featuring pony rides, a petting zoo, air brush tattoo artist, face painting and crafts from 1 to 5 p.m. Admission and all activities are free.
 
Members of Laurel’s jockey colony will race on inflatable rody ponies following the fourth race to help raise money for the Permanently Disabled Jockeys Fund. Parents who make a minimum $5 donation on the winning jockey will be entered into a drawing with a chance to win an iPad, Beats headphones, $100 Laurel Park dining gift card or a photo with the winning jockey and a tour of the jockeys’ room.
 
In addition, PDJF caps, T-shirts and goggles will also be made available for specified donations at a designated table on the first-floor clubhouse near the marketing office.

Laurel’s Crab Feast will be held from 1 to 5 p.m. on the grandstand apron Sunday, July 30 featuring steamed hard-shell crabs, southern fried chicken, pulled pork, macaroni and cheese, corn on the cob, collard greens, potato salad, coleslaw, fresh fruit salad, cornbread and assorted cakes and pies. Tickets are $65 per person and includes soda and draft beer.
 
Fans can also watch and wager on Sunday’s Haskell Invitational at Monmouth Park featuring multiple Grade 2 winner Irish War Cry, based at the Fair Hill Training Center in Elkton, Md. A free Haskell baseball cap will be given away with advance ticket purchase, while supplies last.

Live race programs at Laurel Park begin at 1:10 p.m. Saturday and Sunday. Gates open at 11:30 a.m.
