Laurel’s Saturday Program Features Three Carryovers

LAUREL, MD – Laurel’s Park’s nine-race program Saturday, featuring six turf races, will have three carryovers when racing begins with a 1:25 p.m. first race post time.
 
The Late Pick 5, with a low 12-percent takeout, will have a carryover of $13,977 and will begin with the fifth race, a 5 ½-furlong turf sprint for fillies and mares. The sequence also includes a $42,000 allowance event at 1 1/16 miles on the turf with 2-1 favorite and Belmont shipper Soluble.
 
Laurel’s 20-cent Rainbow 6 has a carryover of $1,648 while the Super Hi 5 in the first race has a carryover of $700.
 
Jockey Trevor McCarthy started the weekend with a three-win afternoon. He was put up in the first race aboard Oaks Bluffs ($10.80) when unofficial winner Alfredo Romana was disqualified to second. McCarthy won the fourth race aboard Clairvoyant Lady ($3.60) and the seventh with Search Warrant ($17.60).
 
Bruce C. Jackson Racing’s Bank Float, a gelded son of Giant’s Causeway trained by Arnaud Delacour, gamely won the $45,000 featured eighth race over Made in Detroit under jockey Daniel Centeno. It was Bank Float’s second consecutive victory.
