LAUREL, MD - The Maryland Jockey Club and Laurel Park will play host to Marylandia, a day-long celebration on Jim McKay Maryland Million Day, Saturday, Oct. 17, featuring craft beers and ciders, live music, free gifts, food trucks and a racing program featuring 11 races and $1 million in purses.
 
Marylandia will be part of Maryland Million Day. Conceived in 1984 by television journalist McKay, Maryland Million Day is a program of races restricted to the offspring of Maryland-based stallions and will include the $150,000 Classic, $125,000 Ladies and $125,000 Turf.
 
For $20 per person, patrons can enter Marylandia at Paddock Park and taste 10 craft beers and ciders from Flying Dog Brewery & Millstone and receive a Maryland Million beach towel, t-shirt, hat and program. Live music will be provided by The Solicitors and DJ Landis Expandis.

Fans can also enter Marylandia without a $20 ticket to buy drinks and food and listen to the music.
 
General admission and parking is free at Laurel Park.
 
Along with its popular restaurants Tycoons and TIPS, Laurel will also host a number of popular food trucks including Greek On the Street, The Great Cookie and The Smoking Swine. There will also be Whiskey Flights on the hour sold with Woodford Reserve, Jack Daniels and Old Forester.

"With the improvements to our building and the growing interest in Maryland racing, these events along with the great racing will make this year's Maryland Million Day a memorable event."
