Live Racing Returns Friday with Rainbow 6 Carryover

LAUREL, MD – There will be a carryover jackpot of $9,329.96 in the 20-cent Rainbow 6 when live racing resumes at Laurel Park with a nine-race program Friday, March 8.
    
First race post time is 12:30 p.m.

Friday’s Rainbow 6 sequence spans Races 4-9 and includes a $40,000 maiden special weight for 3-year-olds and up going six furlongs in Race 6 led by 5-2 program favorite Tom Hagen and first-time starters from trainers Graham Motion, Mike Trombetta and Mark Reid.

The Rainbow 6 wraps up with a $15,000 claiming event for 3-year-olds and up in Race 9 which drew a field of 11 and kicks off the national $1 Stronach 5 wager featuring a $100,000 guaranteed pool and industry-low 12 percent takeout. The wager continues with Races 10 and 11 from Gulfstream Park and Races 5 and 6 from Golden Gate Fields.

First-race post time at Laurel moves to 1:10 p.m. beginning Sunday, March 10. The 48-day winter meet runs through Sunday, March 31. Laurel’s 19-day spring meet runs April 5 to May 5.
