LAUREL, MD – Sunday’s winter-spring meet-closing program at Laurel Park will feature carryovers and mandatory payouts in both the 20-cent Rainbow 6 and 50-cent Late Pick 5 wagers.

First race post time is 1:10 p.m.

No one had all six winners in the Rainbow 6 on Saturday, creating a jackpot carryover of $10,895.18. Tickets with five of six winners were worth $82.86.

The Rainbow 6 jackpot is paid out only when there is a single unique ticket sold with all six winners. On days when there is no unique ticket, 60 percent of that day’s pool goes back to those bettors holding tickets with the most winners while 30 percent is carried over to the jackpot pool. However, on days when a mandatory payout is scheduled the entire pool is shared by those holding tickets with the most winners.

Sunday’s Rainbow 6 sequence spans Races 5-10 and includes the featured ninth, a $45,000 second-level optional claiming allowance for 3-year-olds and up going 5 ½ furlongs on the Bowl Game Turf Course that drew a field of nine led by 5-2 program favorite Jockamo’s Song.

The Late Pick 5, offering an industry-low 12 percent takeout, also went unsolved on Saturday, creating a carryover of $3,596.26. Tickets with four of five winners returned $39.95.

Jockey Horacio Karamanos began Saturday’s program by winning the first three races with Barney Rebel ($9.40), Seymourdini ($2.20) and Apollo Landing ($5), and added a fourth victory aboard Secret or Not ($7.20) in the seventh. He trails Trevor McCarthy, 66-55, in the race for the riding title.

Seymourdini and Apollo Landing are each from the barn of Linda Rice, her 26th and 27th victories of the meet, giving her the lead in the trainer standings over Kieron Magee and Claudio Gonzalez, tied for second at 26. Rice and Gonzalez have no starters on Sunday’s card while Magee has horses entered in the sixth, eighth and ninth races.

Maryland racing shifts to historic Pimlico Race Course for the Preakness Meet at Pimlico starting Thursday, May 11.
