LAUREL, MD – Fans celebrated the Thanksgiving holiday with coffee, donuts, cider, apple and pumpkin pie Thursday at Laurel Park, but no single bettor was able to solve the 20-cent Rainbow 6 wager creating a $5,171.78 jackpot carryover for Friday’s 10-race program.
 
First race post time is 12:30 p.m.
 
Multiple tickets were sold with all six winners in the Rainbow 6 Thursday, each worth $1,312.36.
 
Friday’s Rainbow 6 begins in Race 5 and includes a $47,000 third-level optional claiming allowance at 5 ½ furlongs in Race 8 and a $42,000 entry-level allowance at 1 1/16 miles, both for 3-year-olds and up over Laurel’s world-class turf course.
 
A Super Hi-5 carryover of $2,464.36 will be available in Friday’s opener, a $30,000 starter optional claimer for fillies and mares 3 and over at one mile on the grass.
 
Notes: Jockey Elvis Trujillo rode his first two winners since moving his tack to Maryland earlier this month, finishing first with Correjon ($33.60) in the third race and Ogeechee ($8.60) in the sixth. Also with a riding double were Hall of Famer Edgar Prado, aboard No Regrets ($8) in the first and Pamina ($4) in the seventh; Sheldon Russell with Wake Up in Malibu ($14) in the second and River Deep ($10.40) in the ninth; and Julian Pimentel on Risky Town ($23.60) in the fifth and My Chinumado ($3.40) in the eighth.
