Conditioners of Leading Kentucky Derby Contenders on Between 6-7 P.M.

LAUREL, MD – Laurel-based trainer Cal Lynch and Fair Hill-based trainer Graham Motion, both saddling favorites in key Triple Crown prep races Saturday in Florida and New York, will be guests this evening on Maryland Horse Radio.

Hosted by Maryland Jockey Club analyst and television host Stan Salter, Maryland Horse Radio can be heard on CBS Sports Radio 1300 and www.marylandhorseradio.com.

Lynch will saddle El Areeb, the 6-5 favorite, in Saturday’s $300,000 Gotham Stakes at Aqueduct. The colt, ridden by Laurel-based Trevor McCarthy, will be seeking his fifth consecutive victory and third consecutive graded-stakes race in New York after victories in the Jerome (G3) and Withers (G3). El Areeb broke his maiden at Laurel last October before winning the track’s James F. Lewis in November.

Meanwhile, at Gulfstream Park in South Florida, Motion will saddle Irish War Cry, the 5-2 favorite, in the $400,000 Fountain of Youth (G2). The colt won his first two races at Laurel before leading throughout to win the Lambholm South Holy Bull (G2) at Gulfstream Feb. 4.

Live racing returns to Laurel Park Friday at 12:30 p.m. with a nine-race program. Fans can watch and wager on the Gotham and Fountain of Youth at Laurel and off-track betting facilities throughout the state.
