Son of Laurel Trainer Cal Lynch Takes Season’s First Turf Race

LAUREL, MD – Frank Davino’s Queen of Cause came flying down the center of the track to catch pacesetter Stiva in deep stretch and edge clear in the second race at Laurel Park Saturday, giving trainer Anthony Lynch his first career victory.

The popular multi-race wager went unsolved during the last live program in Maryland March 15 at Laurel Park. First race post time Saturday is 12:40 p.m.

LAUREL, MD – Gary Barber, Wachtel Stables, Pantofel Stable and Howling Pigeon Farms’ Grade 2 winner Shotski is expected to miss the rest of his sophomore season with minor bone bruising, Laurel Park-based trainer Jerry O’Dwyer said, but will be pointed to a 4-year-old campaign in 2021.
 

MARYLAND HORSEMEN RESUME RACING

LAUREL, MD - The Maryland Jockey Club announced today that it has received approval from the Maryland Racing Commission to resume live racing at Laurel Park effective Saturday, May 30. The Summer 2020 meet begins with three days of live racing running through to Monday, June 1.

MJC Releases Spring Condition Book for Laurel Meet

Book Covers 15-Day Span; No Specific Dates Announced
 
LAUREL, MD – The Maryland Jockey Club has released a spring condition book for Laurel Park covering a period of 15 days ahead of the still-undetermined resumption of live racing in the state.
 
Specific dates have not been set. As part of Gov. Larry Hogan’s statewide shutdown, live racing was paused in Maryland following the March 15 program at Laurel out of concerns due to the coronavirus pandemic.

MJC Resuming LARC Simulcasts Starting Sunday, May 3

Live Racing from Brazil Offered Sundays & Mondays in May
 
LAUREL, MD – For the first time since the state’s live racing was paused in mid-March, the Maryland Jockey Club will begin offering Latin America Racing Channel simulcasting beginning Sunday, May 3.
 
Full card LARC simulcasts from Hipodromo da Gavea in Brazil are scheduled from 12:30 to 8 p.m. on Sundays and Mondays in May, starting May 3 and 4 and continuing May 10, 11, 17, 18, 24, 25 and 31.
