LAUREL, MD – Live racing, Brew & Bourbon, carryovers, the De Francis Memorial Dash Stakes and $850,000 in stakes purses.
 
Those are just some of the things fans can look forward to over the next 10 days at Laurel Park.
 
Laurel will resume racing Friday at 12:35 p.m. with a nine-race program highlighted by a $45,000 optional allowance for fillies and mares at 5 ½ furlongs on the turf. The field of 14 will include No Tunes, a winner at Laurel over soft turf Oct. 11 and Maggiesfreuddnslip, who ships in from New York after competing against restricted company.
 
After a weekend of racing Laurel will gear up for a special Veterans Day program Wednesday, Nov. 11. Laurel will offer a 25-percent discount on all food and beverage to active and retired military and a guest. Money raised from donations made will go to Maryland Therapeutic Riding and its program for veteran and active duty wounded warriors.
 
Laurel will resume racing Saturday, Nov. 14 with the 24th running of the De Francis Memorial Dash highlighting a program of six stakes worth purses totaling $850,000. The afternoon will also include the popular Brew & Bourbon Classic, which will feature samplings and tastings of more than 50 bourbons and 30 beers. There will also be a Wagering 101 tent for first-time visitors to newly-renovated Laurel Park.
