Rainbow 6 Carryover Grows to $19,400 for Friday, June 28

Live Racing Returns with 10-Race Program Starting at 1:10 P.M.

LAUREL, MD – A 20-cent Rainbow 6 carryover jackpot of $19,400.22 will greet bettors when live racing returns to Laurel Park with a 10-race program Friday, June 28.

First race post time is 1:10 p.m.

A total of $8,306 was bet into the popular multi-race wager Sunday on top of a carryover of $16,742.33 from Saturday’s 10-race card. Tickets with five of six winners Sunday were worth $181.20.

The carryover jackpot is only paid out when there is a single unique ticket sold with all six winners. On days when there is no unique ticket, 60 percent of that day’s pool goes back to those bettors holding tickets with the most winners, while 40 percent is carried over to the jackpot pool.

Friday’s Rainbow 6 spans Races 5-10. The sequence features four races over Laurel’s world-class turf course which attracted a total of 44 horses, an average of 11 starters per race, including a 5 ½-furlong sprint for 2-year-old maidens in Race 6. Race 9 is a $45,000 second-level optional claiming allowance for fillies and mares 3 and up going one mile on the main track.

Notes: Jockeys Angel Cruz and Alex Cintron each rode two winners Sunday. Cruz finished first with Why Now ($10.80) in Race 1 and Baysider ($5.80) in Race 7, while Cintron scored on Waiting for a Star ($28) in Race 4 and Junipero Avenue ($10.60) in Race 8. Both Junipero Avenue and That’sthewaytodoit ($5.60) in Race 2 are trained by Mike Trombetta.
