Entries Welcome for Woods, Frutkoff Preakness Awards
Television, Multimedia Submissions Accepted for First Time

LAUREL, MD – The Maryland Jockey Club announced today it is accepting entries for the David F. Woods Memorial Award, presented for the best Preakness story from 2023, and the Jerry Frutkoff Photography Award, presented to the photographer of the best Preakness image from 2023.

For the first time, the David F. Woods Memorial Award will include television and multimedia submissions.

LAUREL, MD – Timothy Hopkins’ Rominski, riding a three-race win streak, chases a fourth straight victory while stepping up into stakes company for the first time in the $75,000 Not For Love Saturday at Laurel Park.

The six-furlong Not For Love for 4-year-olds and up is the first of three stakes worth $250,000 in purses on a 10-race program and one of two restricted to Maryland-bred/sired horses, along with the $75,000 Conniver for fillies and mares 4 and older.

Under Jeiron Barbosa, Fainor’s Filets ($9) completed 5 ½ furlongs in 1:07.74 over a fast main track to win the claiming event for 3-year-old fillies by 1 ¼ lengths.
