Preakness (G1) Post Position Draw Monday

LAUREL, MD – Post positions and odds will be assigned for the 148 th running of the

Preakness Stakes (G1) Monday, May 15 at Guinness Open Gate Brewery at 5:30 p.m.

The Guinness Open Gate Brewery is located at 5001 Washington Blvd.

Stablemate Balpool Possible for G2 Black-Eyed Susan

LAUREL, MD – Twin Creeks Racing Stable’s Law Professor breezed a half-mile Saturday at Belmont Park ahead of his next scheduled start in the historic $250,000 Pimlico Special (G3) May 19 at Pimlico Race Course.

With regular exercise rider Jesse Sauder up, the multiple stakes-winning homebred went four furlongs over a fast main track in an easy 50.88 seconds. It was his fifth work following a 4 ¼-length victory in the April 1 Excelsior over a muddy track at Aqueduct.

To be Recognized at Alibi Breakfast May 18 at Pimlico

LAUREL, MD – Michael Algeo, Chairman of the Maryland Racing Commission, will be recognized with the Special Award of Merit May 18 during the Alibi Breakfast at Pimlico Race Course.

The Special Award of Merit is given to those who have made a positive impact on the racing industry. Past winners have included Jim McKay, D. Wayne Lukas, Chick Lang, King Leatherbury, and Thoroughbred Aftercare Alliance.
