Graded Winner Lady Sabelia Returns To Laurel Saturday In $75,000 Primonetta

LAUREL, MD - Mrs. Frank P. Wright's Grade 2-winning homebred Lady Sabelia, a winner of eight of her last 12 races, meets seven others Saturday in the $75,000 Primonetta Stakes.
            
Along with Lady Sabelia, a winner of nearly $700,000 for trained by Robin Graham and jockey Horacio Karamanos, the Primonetta drew Love Came to Town, a 5 1/2-length winner Jan. 2 of the Nellie Morse, and Flattering Bea, who ships in from Charles Town.

LAUREL, MD - The Jim Stable's Ben's Cat, the popular, Maryland-bred fan favorite who has won 30 of 53 starts for $2.4 million, is back at Laurel in light training for his Hall of Fame conditioner King Leatherbury after taking the winter off at Stephanie Nixon's farm in Virginia.

Marengo Road, a 3-year-old colt by Quality Road, leads a group of six in Saturday's $75,000 Private Terms, while Great Soul, a lightly-raced filly by Great Notion, meets five others in the co-featured $75,000 Caesar's Wish.

Timonium, Md.— Alex and JoAnn Lieblong’s multiple Grade 1 stakes performer The Big Beast was named Maryland-bred Horse of the Year in the annual poll conducted by the Maryland Horse Breeders Association. The son of Yes It’s True, bred by Ron and Carolyn Green’s Green Willow Farm, also took top honors as champion older male and champion sprinter.
