City of Laurel Stakes And Salute The Troops Promotion Highlight Nov. 9 At Laurel Park

LAUREL, MD. 10-31-13---Mayor Craig A. Moe is pleased to announce that the City of Laurel will team with Laurel Park to celebrate the City of Laurel and the United States military at Laurel Park on Saturday, Nov. 9, 2013.

In a promotion exclusively for City of Laurel residents, the day will feature free admission, general parking, a “Make a Bet on Us” voucher, prize giveaways and food and drink discounts. The live racing card will include the $100,000 City of Laurel Stakes for 3-year-olds.

All active and retired military (and a guest) will receive free admission and 25% discount on all food and beverages as part of a “Salute the Troops” promotion. There will be a Joint Service Color Guard between races and military vehicles on display. The day will benefit Horses for Heroes-Maryland Therapeutic Riding.

Laurel Park, which has been part of the community since 1911, will also have emergency service vehicles on hand. There will be local businesses present as well.
