LAUREL, MD – After having his streak snapped at six consecutive Laurel Park titles in the spring, Claudio Gonzalez will finish the 43-day summer stand back atop the trainer standings.

Gonzalez, 42, enters Sunday’s closing day program with a 22-14 advantage over runner-up Mike Trombetta. It will be the 10th career title for Gonzalez, Maryland’s overall leading trainer in 2017 and 2018.

LAUREL, MD – There were three winning tickets in Friday’s Stronach 5, each worth $35,584.40.

Friday’s sequence started with a $7.20 winner in Laurel Park’s eighth race in Judi Blues Eyes and ended with first-time starter and 45-1 longshot Go Time winning Gulfstream Park’s 10th race and returning $96.80. The fourth leg of the sequence, the fourth race from Golden Gate Fields, produced a dead heat between Irish Affair and Rouge Bouquet.
