She's All Scat Re-Rallies To Take Gin Talking Stakes

LAUREL, MD. 11-24-12---Barry & Joni Butzow’s She’s All Scat led to the furlong marker, lost the lead for a few strides before fighting back to win in the $100,000 Gin Talking Stakes for 2-year-old fillies on Saturday afternoon at Laurel Park.

Jose Caraballo rode the daughter of Scat Daddy for trainer Michael Pino to a clocking of 1:26.18 for the seven furlong distance. Ek Haseena, who battled She’s All Scat into deep stretch, lost the win by a length and a half but finished a length and a half ahead of post time favorite Disco Barbie, who took third.

She’s All Scat, now a winner of two of four starts, was annexing her first stakes.  She paid $28. The exacta paid $163.60 and the triple returned $286.90.

“She’s a game little filly,” said Caraballo. “She’ll go to the front, she’ll come off the pace. Today, when a horse came up to me and passed me, the filly came running again and she did it. I was a little concerned about racing seven eighths for the first time but she handled it pretty well. She’s pretty quick and I knew I was going to be in the first flight.”
