Winning Image Is An Easy Winner Of The Willa On The Move Stakes

LAUREL, MD. 12-15-12---Martin Scafidi’s Winning Image left no doubt about her intentions when she shot to the lead in the $100,000 Willa on the Move Stakes. A minute and eleven seconds later she had proven she was the best of six fillies and mares in Saturday’s feature at Laurel Park.

Jose Caraballo pushed the buttons on the five-year-old daughter of Southern Image, who was geared down nearing the finish line to win by a length and a quarter over late rallying longshot Withgreatpleasure. Made to Love Her took third.

Multiple stakes winner Red’s Round Table, who left the starting gate as the betting favorite, prompted the front runner to mid-stretch before giving way and finishing last.

Winning Image has captured four stakes, all under Caraballo. She is in training at Parx Racing under Michael Aro.

“This filly is as honest a filly as you could be on,” said Caraballo. “I had a lot of horse left. I never rode her. I just tapped her on the shoulder. Nothing. She’s a lot of horse.”

“She’s awesome. She came into this race 110%,” said Aro. “It would have taken a heck of a filly to beat her today.”

Winning Image paid $5.80.
