LAUREL, MD - Country Life Farm's Flash McCaul, second in the Maryland Million Nursery Stakes and the Maryland Juvenile Futurity, drove down the stretch Sunday to win a $42,000 allowance optional claiming event on Laurel's Super Bowl Sunday program.
            
Second in four consecutive starts since breaking his maiden in September, the 3-year-old gelding was driven past It's the Journey and King's Swan Stakes runner-up Sallisaw to win by three lengths.

LAUREL, MD - Candida H., a 4-year-old daughter of Lemon Drop Kid, drove past the stakes-winner Brenda's Way down the stretch Saturday to win the $75,000 Conniver Stakes at Laurel Park.
 
Trained by Michael Trombetta, Candida H. was ridden to victory by Julian Pimentel, who was celebrating his 35th birthday Saturday. Candida H. covered the seven furlongs in 1:24.05.

LAUREL, MD - The Maryland Jockey Club announced today that live racing has been cancelled Monday, but that both Laurel and Pimlico will be open for simulcast wagering.
 
Management has also informed horsemen that Laurel will be open for training Monday morning.

LAUREL, MD - With blizzard conditions fast approaching, Laurel Park cancelled its Friday program after the fifth race for the safety of its customers, employees, jockeys, horses and horsemen.
 
Laurel announced the cancellation of its Saturday and Sunday programs Thursday and announced both Laurel and Pimlico would be closed for simulcasting Saturday.
