Live Racing Returns To Laurel Park Wednesday For Fall Meeting

LAUREL, MD. 08-31-12---After a 15-week break, live racing will resume at the major Maryland tracks two days after Labor Day. The 2012 fall meeting begins at Laurel Park Wednesday afternoon (post time 1:10 p.m). Racing will take place four days a week through the end of the year on a Wednesday through Saturday schedule, holidays excluded.

Laurel Park, which opened on October 2, 1911, hosts live thoroughbred horse racing annually from September until March and is the sister track to Pimlico Race Course, home of the world-famous Preakness Stakes.

LAUREL, MD. 07-17-12---The Maryland Jockey Club unveiled the 2012 Laurel Park fall schedule today after reaching agreement with both the Maryland Thoroughbred Horsemen’s Association and Maryland Horse Breeders Association.
