McCarthy Running Away With Jockey Title

LAUREL, MD 11-28-14---A year after finishing fifth in the voting for outstanding apprentice rider, Trevor McCarthy has taken his game to the next level. The 20-year-old ranks seventh in North America with 240 victories and is poised to sweep the 2014 titles at all three meets at the major Maryland tracks when the Laurel Park fall stand concludes next month.

LAUREL, MD. 11-15-14---Zayat Stables LLC’s Zee Bros, dismissed at odds of 29-1, proved to be the swiftest of all in the $350,000 Frank J. DeFrancis Memorial Dash. The De Francis Dash was the marquee race in Saturday’s Fall Festival of Racing at Laurel Park, which featured six stakes.

LAUREL, MD. 11-15-14---L. William & Corinne Heiligbrodt’s Cinco Charlie became a three-time stakes winner this afternoon when he blew away his competition in the $100,000 James F. Lewis III Stakes for 2-year olds at Laurel Park.
LAUREL, MD. 11-15-14---Tim E. O’Donohue Racing Stables LLC’s Lake Sebago emerged from a scramble to capture the $100,000 Smart Halo Stakes for 2-year old fillies, the first of six stakes races on Saturday’s nine-race card at Laurel Park.
