The Lumber Guy Headlines Saturday's Miracle Wood Stakes

LAUREL, MD. 02-24-12---The numbers jump off the page on The Lumber Guy, the 7-5 morning line favorite for Saturday’s $100,000 Miracle Wood Stakes at Laurel Park. The 7-furlong test drew a field of nine colts and geldings.

The Lumber Guy earned a Beyer Speed Figure of 90 in his only start, a maiden win at Aqueduct last month for trainer Michael Hushion. The son of Grand Slam showed early speed against restricted company before drawing off to a 9-1/4 length victory. Julian Pimentel gets his first chance on the colt.
